Eternally Yours (Immortal Beloved,#3)
By Cate Tiernan
published November 2012
After 450 years of living, Nastasya Crowe should have more of a handle on this whole immortal thing....
After a deadly confrontation at the end of Darkness Falls, the second Immortal Beloved novel, Nastasya Crowe is, as she would put it, so over the drama. She fights back against the dark immortals with her own brand of kick-butt magick...but can she fight against true love? In the satisfying finale to the Immortal Beloved trilogy, ex-party-girl immortal Nastasya ends a 450-year-old feud and learns what "eternally yours" really means.
Laced with historical flashbacks and laugh-out-loud dialogue, the Immortal Beloved trilogy is a fascinating and unique take on what it would mean to live forever.
This series was good to the last drop. I don't say this often, but this series could go on longer and still work. I haven't laughed so hard reading in a long time. Nastasya is one of my all time favorite characters. Witty as hell, real, honest and no one's ideal version of a person, Nas is perfect for me. Her brutal honesty, her fears and phobias resonate with me. The fact that she wasn't some "have-it-all-together, kick-a" heroine was such a refreshing change. She did not have it together, she didn't always want to do the right thing and she knew it. Triple high fives to Tiernan for writing such characters with depth. The ensemble cast left me wishing that River's Edge was real and that someday I too could sit down for a meal with them.
Speaking of characters, we get to meet River's brothers in this one. Those guys could have made the book right there. There were some new characters and returning characters because of Nastasya's new project. But I can't spoil that for you so I'll leave it at that.
Reyn. You little hundreds year old sword welding dog trainer you.... I am so going to miss you. Hmmm..... Cate Tiernan: if you are out there in cyber space reading this, please make a spin off series with Reyn's point of view where this series left off... Please! Oh my... I just may faint from the excitement of THAT idea..... ;)
I HIGHLY recommend the Immortal Beloved series. And I highly recommend to Tiernan that she answer some important questions she left us hanging with by writing a spin off series! Enjoy!
