Dangerous to be together. Painful to be apart. Savannah Colbert knows she broke up with Tristan Coleman for the right reasons. Most of all, to keep from killing him with her new vampire abilities. But try telling her heart. Now, lost in a sea of hostile Clann faces, Sav tries to come to terms with what she's becoming and what that means for her future. And that someone is doing their best to bully her into making a terrible mistake.

Tristan can't believe Sav won't even talk to him. If being apart is her decision, fine. Just don't expect him to honor it. But even as he prepares to fight for the girl he loves, forces beyond their control take them both in directions neither could have foreseen or prepared for.A reckoning is coming… and not everyone will survive.
There have been only a few rare books that leave me in a state of complete shock when I finish reading. Covet by Melissa Darnell completely blew me away. I literally stared at my screen, begging for more. Sequels usually leave a bad taste in my mouth. They’re typically stale, dry attempts to keep a reader’s whistle wet until book three. Melissa’s second novel was a banquet, an utter feast for the mind.

When we left Covet, Savannah and Tristan were leaving Paris after a nerve-racking test of wills with the Vampire Council. Savannah had promised the Council that she would cut off her relationship with Tristan when they returned in order to insure his safety. Only he didn’t know that. We pick up with their flight back to the States. Thinking she had a little time, Savannah soon finds all hell breaking loose at home and tragic events bombard her and her loved ones.  Her will and heart will be tested more than ever.  Melissa has a gift for building emotional connections between the reader and her characters. Covet was a vortex of emotional drama. I went through a box of tissues by page 200.

Melissa weaves an intricate tale, introducing new plot lines to throw the reader for a loop. A number of new characters were introduced, and side characters were developed further. Anne, Carrie and Michelle provide much needed wit and humor relief to an otherwise story taught with drama. Ron was a very intriguing development. I loved that Melissa brought back an obscure character from the first book and gave him a much more prominent role. I found him charming and provided a great new dynamic to the series.

The relationship between Savannah and Tristan weathered tremendous changes and challenges. With each suffering tremendous personal grief and their forced separation, their interactions caused delicious tension and turmoil.

Hang on to your seat, because this book took off and by the latter half was clocking at warp speed. The last 50 pages had me holding onto my laptop for dear life. What Melissa wrote was not a cliffhanger. It was more like being ejected out of a grenade launcher over a cliff the size of The Marianas Trench. It took about five minutes before a coherent thought entered my mind.

I am craving the next book, Consume. Melissa, all I ask is for the next book, take pity on my poor heart. Any more shocks and I’ll need to be resuscitated!

Here is the video for book one, CRAVE and if you haven't started this series you need to go out today and get these books! Trust me you will be CRAVING some more! :)
