Deity (Covenant, #3)

"History is on repeat, and things didn't go so well the last time. "
Alexandria isn't sure she's going to make it to her eighteenth birthday--to her Awakening. A long-forgotten, fanatical order is out to kill her, and if the Council ever discovers what she did in the Catskills, she's a goner... and so is Aiden.
If that's not freaky enough, whenever Alex and Seth spend time "training"--which really is just Seth's code word for some up-close and personal one-on-one time--she ends up with another mark of the Apollyon, which brings her one step closer to Awakening ahead of schedule. Awesome.
But as her birthday draws near, her entire world shatters with a startling revelation and she's caught between love and Fate. One will do anything to protect her. One has been lying to her since the beginning. Once the gods have revealed themselves, unleashing their wrath, lives will be irrevocably changed... and destroyed.
Those left standing will discover if love is truly greater than Fate...
Frustrating, epic, nail-biting and completely delectable! This third installment in the Covenant Series was full of revelations, bone crushing grief and had an ending that left me completely shocked. Actually I think I saw the angels and the pearly gates for a moment while I left my body. That kind of shocked.
Armentrout needs to hand out heart medicine with her novels or quit writing the mother of all cliff hangers. After I could regain speech, my first words were, "OH. NO. YOU. DIDN'T!" THANK GOD she gave us ELIXIR (Covenant #3.5) because I TORE through that immediately to find SOME sort of relief. Warning! If you read this, make sure to have ELIXIR on hand so you don't faint.

This series should come with its own "WARNING: Highly Addictive" label. I did not put this book down. Major character developments made my heart sing (I think I did get up and do a happy dance) and there were ANSWERS to questions. Hallelujah... the angels are singing! Here is a sip to wet your whistle... now we know why pures and halfs cannot be together. It's a BIG eye opener. Don't want to spoil it for you!
May I first say I almost downgraded my rating of PURE (book two) because I was utterly tired of Alex being so freaking rash and thoughtless. I get that it's part of her personality but really? REALLY?? Drum roll please... she grows up in DEITY! Whoo hoo! Finally. **Exhales sharply** Alex matures and learns her lessons while dealing with even more trauma. **Sniff, sniff** My baby girl is all grown up and saving the world. Her faith and compassion in people is astounding, especially how fierce and ferocious a fighter she is.
Aiden owns my heart, along with the book.. sorry Alex. Playful and affectionate yet a fierce protector, sexy and honorable, loyal and sweet. Mmmmm... come to MAMA! His relationship with Alex became so tangible and felt like a living thing. My heart melted alongside Alex with his passionate care and loving words. Honestly, it is one of the best fictional relationships out there and I can't stress how wonderfully well written it is.
Seth... I am biting my tongue. You are just going to have to read the book to understand. If I could kill a fictional character... he would top my list.
This book was monumental. Insane. Perfect. It could blow your mind it is that good. If it was a thrill ride you'd need to sign a waver before strapping down. Make sure you get a copy of ELIXIR to read right after this!
